Attack on Titan - Volume 9 (2012)

Author/Artist: Hajime Isayama
Publisher: KC Magazine

Synopsis:
Titans appear inside Wall Rose, spreading fears that the wall has been breached.

Story/Characters:
This volume introduces the dreaded Beast Titan and also gives Sasha her moment in the spotlight. Beyond that, we take our first step toward a pretty big revelation about the true nature of the Titans. By and large, though, this volume mostly serves to help set things up for bigger things to come.

Art:
We've got scenes with a good bit of visual punch, but also some wonkiness in the talky bits. It's a bit of a mixed bag, but if you've followed the series this long, you're used to it.

Conclusion:
We've got a good character moment for Sasha and lay the groundwork for the next major plot development, but this volume feels like a bit of a dip after the big showdown with the Female Titan. There's certainly escalation going on and a few nicely tense moments, so I'd say it's enough to keep a fan of the story going.
