Attack on Titan - Volume 25 (2018)

Author/Artist: Hajime Isayama
Publisher: KC Magazine

Synopsis:
Eren reveals himself to Reiner as Lord Tybur gathers dignitaries to declare war on Paradis Island.

Story/Characters:
As you know, the novelty of being in Marley wore off quickly for me, so I'm glad to see our gang return to prominence. I find it interesting how Lord Tybur pretty much lays all the cards on the table to try to spur the world to war. And here you thought our paradigm couldn't be shifted anymore. Actually, Lord Tybur's revelations aren't that much of a surprise at this point, but the fact that he just exposed the hidden history like that is. When Eren throws down, things really heat up. I won't spoil much, but I'm sure that it's no surprise that where Eren is, other familiar faces are close at hand. It's got me quite intrigued to catch up with them. Just when I was starting to feel disengaged from the story, I'm back on board.

Art:
The cover lets you know that Eren goes on a rampage and we're certainly due for a good action scene. The newly revealed Warhammer Titan has cool powers and makes for a good match. Also, I'm digging the the redesigns for our gang.

Other:
Well, it seems that Isayama likes the high school AU for the fake teasers as much as me. I'm almost looking forward to the continuation of this as much as the main plot. ^o^

Conclusion:
We've spent two volumes away from our heroes, so it's good to have them back. This volume feels like sufficient payoff for the detour. If you felt like the story was going off the rails a bit, this might bring you back. For me, at least, I'm satisfied with what appears to be the path to the endgame and think this volume is worth getting.
