Dagashi Kashi - Volume 10 (2018)

Author/Artist: Kotoyama
Publisher: Shounen Sunday Comics

Synopsis:
A customer shows up at the shop looking for hand spinners, but without any in stock, Kokonotsu tries to promote an alternative.

Story/Characters:
The main feature this volume is the girls' meeting (and it's amusing that honorary girl You is the girliest of them all), but we also get some nice moments with Yutaka. The Suppai Spray episode is possibly my favorite. I also like that we sort of make a rhyme in the narrative in the lead-up to the new school year starting. We have a clear goal driving us toward the end of the story.

Art:
Hajime is cute(r) with her hair tied back. Just thought I'd point that out. If you like dramatic art played for laughs, look no further than the Azuki Bar episode.

Other:
On the inner flap of the dust cover, Kotoyama reveals he has a thing for the gap made between buttons on shirts. If you've seen his chapter covers, you're well aware of this predilection, but it's amusing that he draws attention to it. As for the 4-koma, I like how Hotaru speculates what will happen if the manga reaches 50 volumes (and doubly funny because Kotoyama had already put together the final manuscript when this volume was released).

Conclusion:
Although this volume is a bit weaker than others, it's still solid and well worth having for any fan.
