Horror Express (1972)

Synopsis:
An anthropologist finds a frozen body in Manchuria that he thinks may prove to be the Missing Link, but on the train ride back to Europe, the body goes missing and passengers start turning up dead.

Impressions:
While this isn't a Hammer film, it certainly feels a lot like a Hammer film, in no small part due to the casting of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. They're great, of course, working well together. Telly Savalas has a brief but amazing part as the Cossack Captain Kazan. I also rather liked the Rasputinian mad monk Father Pujardov played by Alberto de Mendoza. The special effects aren't great, but they're adequate. Setting a horror story in an enclosed environment like a train is quite effective. Though not an outstanding film, it's still pretty entertaining and worth a watch.
