Jaws: The Revenge (1987)

Jaws: The Revenge (1987)

Director: Joseph Sargent
Starring: Lorraine Gary, Lance Guest, Mario Van Peebles

Synopsis:
After Sean Brody is killed in a shark attack, Mrs. Brody fears a great white is out for revenge on her family.

Impressions:
While I was able to find some charm to Jaws III, there's not much to love here. It's kinda cool seeing Lance Guest in something other than The Last Starfighter and it was interesting seeing Judith Barsi in a live-action role, but that's it. This apparently takes place in a different continuity than Jaws III. I can't say it works in the film's favor, whatever the flaws of the third film. Besides the silliness of a shark willfully targeting the Brody family, you have other issues like the clumsy romance between Lorraine Gary and Michael Caine and Mario Van Peebles outrageous Jamaican accent. Except as a curiosity, there's no reason to watch this movie. Skip it.
