Impressions:
I liked the first Ant-Man and I knew I'd like this as well. I may not have gone out to the theaters to see it if not for an invitation from my sister, but that's true of nearly all MCU solo outings. I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. This is a natural continuation of the original and blends in seamlessly with the overarching continuity of the MCU. While Scott does suffer some torment at the hands of Hank and Hope, the writers don't go overboard in making him a butt monkey for the sake of playing up the Wasp. When the rubber hits the road, the eponymous duo make a dang solid team. We continue to see clever use of the shrinking/expanding powers and definitely some even more dynamic applications than the previous film. Besides the core trio, we also get good performances from Laurence Fishburne as one of Hank's former colleagues and Hanna John-Kamen as the Ghost, whose phasing powers makes for interesting interplay with Ant-Man and the Wasp's powers. The Ghost's actress Hannah John-Kamen is probably someone to keep an eye on. We've got good action, good comedy and some good drama as well. We've built on a solid foundation and delivered what I think is an even better film. This one's worth a watch at the very least but I don't think most MCU fans would mind adding this to their collection.
