It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)

Director: Bill Melendez
Studio: Lee Mendelson Film Productions, Bill Melendez Productions
Starring: Peter Robbins, Christopher Shea, Sally Dryer

Synopsis:
Linus forgoes trick-or-treating and Halloween parties to await the arrival of the Great Pumpkin.

Impressions:
While not quite as iconic as the Christmas special that came before it, this is nevertheless a well-loved staple of Halloween viewing. It's not quite as evenly plotted as the Christmas special. While the fantasy of Snoopy in his WWI flying ace persona offers some interesting visuals, it does feel a bit like padding to fill out the runtime. Charlie Brown has a rough time of it as usual and Linus doesn't fare much better. It's definitely rough around the edges, but if you haven't seen it, give it a watch. If it's been a while, give it a rewatch to bring back the memories.
