Synopsis:
In a world plagued by a pandemic, an amnesiac doctor is trapped between the oppressive authorities and an indiscriminate insurgency of the infected.

Impressions:
I was drawn to the story and characters of the game this was based on, but I'm not a big fan of tower defense games, so I ultimately abandoned the game. The prospect of seeing the story in animated form appealed to me. I do like the intrigue of the different factions, the clash of ideals and whatnot, but your mileage may vary on how effective it is. The production values are quite good and the cast is generally appealing, but we only get a small segment of the story, one that many fans of the games say is the most boring part. You might be inclined to dismiss this as just a big advertisement for a game, but the fact that we have a follow-up season announced at the end is promising for those of you wanting more. If you're in the mood for some postapocalyptic fiction featuring a cast of demihumans, this makes for a pretty good watch. Give it a shot.
