Impressions:
With this being a game adaptation, you should lower your expectations from the get-go. I hear people say the story of the original game is better. The dang thing crashes too often on my tablet to confirm this firsthand. At any rate, if you've never played a JRPG or read any dime-a-dozen fantasy novel, this may actually come across as halfway decent. If, however, you've consumed any media from the genre, the main story is so cookie-cutter that it may as well have come off an assembly line. I probably would've dropped it early on, but the B plot with the Dark Elves of the mercenary company Black Edge was actually interesting. That ball does end up getting dropped, however. I only powered through to the end as I'd already passed the halfway mark and figured I might as well get a review out of the experience. It does pick up a bit in the end, but this is nothing special. It doesn't do anything remarkably bad, nor does it do anything remarkably good. Like I said, cookie-cutter stuff. I'd only recommend it if you have nothing better to do with your time. Take it or leave it.
