The Forty Years' War

Near the end of the War of Ban, a Byrnan nun took pity on a nonhuman and sheltered him, paying a grievous price for her compassion. She would later be known as Saint Serafima the Gentle. She bore a son, Maksim, who came of age as the Gladian army invaded. To help save his homeland, he must serve in the same army that took everything from his mother. He must overcome the bitter grudge against his own people to deliver them from the ravages of the enemy. In doing so, he becomes something more. Byrn's greatest hero, the legendary Saint Maksim the Valiant.
