Day-Time Wife (1939)

Day-Time Wife (1939)

Director: Gregory Ratoff
Starring: Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell, Warren William

Synopsis:
A wife, suspecting her husband of adultery with his secretary, takes up a job working for his rival.

Impressions:
I'll admit that I wasn't quite on board with this movie at first, but once the protagonist gets her husband in over a barrel, it becomes a lot of fun. It's rather startling that Linda Darnell was a mere 15 when she made this. (Her character's romantic rival comments on her youth and it was no understatement.) Warren William is a lot of fun as her new boss and Tyrone Power is pretty good too when the story ups the ante. Though I had my doubts at first, in the final tally, I'd say it's worth a watch.
