It Happened One Night (1934)

Director: Frank Capra
Starring: Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Walter Connolly
Synopsis:
An heiress runs away to reunite with her husband and along the way crosses paths with a reporter who tags along to score the big scoop he needs to save his career.
Impressions:
Given Clark Gable's fame, it's surprising that I hadn't really seen any of his movies before this. This movie precedes Roman Holiday, but there's definitely a similar vibe here. Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert have some amusing back-and-forth and it's a fairly fun ride. I'm not entirely happy with the third act, but it's fine. If you'd like to give an old-style romantic comedy a try, give this one a shot.
