Impressions:
Once upon a time, an Italian woman was annoyed by the people around her going vegetarian, so she wrote a movie script to vent her frustrations and her husband was going to direct it. Not in Italian, no. These two were such experts in America (and American youth culture) that they were going to film in a foreign country in their second language with a shoestring budget and a collection of amateur thespians. How could it be anything less than pure cinema gold? This movie is quite notorious for being one of the worst films ever. Thankfully, it's more bafflingly bad and not frustratingly bad or annoyingly bad, which is no doubt part of the reason for the cult following that grew up around it. Before you judge the actors too harshly, bear in mind that they're working with a wonky script and some very... unique direction. Actually, Deborah Reed as Creedence stands out for her hammy performance because it seems so unconstrained by the way Fragasso directed the other actors. It's quite the experience, probably best enjoyed with some friends and maybe some additional substances (not that I endorse that kind of thing). If that sounds like your idea of a good time, go for it. Otherwise, you might want to pass on it.
