Synopsis:
A father-to-be is selected to serve on the jury in a murder case that he may be involved in.
Impressions:
Although I'd heard mixed things about this, I was a bit curious about it and when I saw it in the list of airline movies, I decided to check it out. Comparisons to 12 Angry Men are inevitable and while this lacks the same depth of character work, it does some interesting things by showing us both inside and outside the trial and the B plot of the prosecutor digging deeper into the case while the jury deliberates. I think the real test of your appreciation for this film will be how invested you get with the main character and his struggle with the truth of the case. The ending is a bit weak, and as I said, it compares unfavorably to 12 Angry Men, if you want a decent courtroom drama, I'd say it's worth a watch.
