Synopsis:
Lloyd joins the Church in a bid to learn the secrets of divine sorcery, only to stumble upon a dark conspiracy at work behind the scenes.
Impressions:
Given how much I enjoyed the previous season, I was of course quite happy for this follow-up. However, while this is indeed a solid continuation that does good things in expanding the lore, I have to admit that it didn't quite grab me like the first season did. The visuals are impressive as ever, especially in the big battle sequences; thehumor is pretty good and we get some decent character work as well, but I didn't feel the same eagerness to catch each episode as it dropped with some of my more well-regarded series of the season. If you liked the first season, I'm pretty sure you'll still like this, maybe even quite a bit, but I can't give it quite as strong of an endorsement. Give it a watch, by all means, but maybe do so first before you decide to invest in adding this to your collection.
