The leader of a punitive expedition to the barbarian lands gets taken captive in order to become the bride of their leader.
Impressions:
When I saw the PV for this months ago, I was looking forward to this, which is part of the reason it was one of my first series to pick up as I started to get back in the anime watching habit. So how does it stack up? Well, the story and characters are decent. It leans a bit much on noble savage tropes and too much of the humor relies on comedic overreaction, so that can annoy a bit. Also, while character designs are fairly good, production values are variable at best and a lot of the action scenes are both poorly choreographed and poorly animated. This isn't one of the major studios, nor is the source a particularly hot property, so some allowances can be made, but when the writing is generally so-so as well, it can make for an underwhelming experience. I thought it was worthwhile overall, but your mileage may vary. I'd say give it the ol' three-episode rule and if it has you sufficiently hooked, you probably won't regret seeing it through to the end. That being said, I can't turn a blind eye to its shortcomings, so as a general recommendation, I'm going to have to say take it or leave it.
