Inuyasha - Volume 7 (1998)

Author/Artist: Rumiko Takahashi
Publisher: Shounen Sunday Comics

Synopsis:
Naraku offers his services to Sesshoumaru to help him take the Tessaiga from Inuyasha.

Story/Characters:
Naraku starts taking a more active hand in the plot trying to use Sesshoumaru against Inuyasha. I like how Sesshoumaru plays along because A) he really hates Inuyasha, and B) Naraku's boldness amuses him. I also love how Kagome's immediate response when Sesshoumaru arrives on the scene is to run away screaming. We get the first depiction of the Kaze no Kizu, though it won't get named for a while yet. We also get the debut of the Saimyoushou, which prove to be the bane of poor Miroku's existence. Afterward we get a sweet moment that provides more shipping fuel and then start to dig into Naraku's origin.

Art:
When Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru throw down, it's gonna be messy. If you like brutal fight scenes, this won't disappoint.

Conclusion:
We get a good brawl between the puppy brothers and learn more about Naraku. Inuyasha blocking Kagome from returning to the Sengoku Period makes for some good drama, even if it's short-lived.
