Synopsis:
The lonely wife of a workaholic lawyer starts a fling with a poet when she learns her husband is cheating on her, but everything takes a turn for the worst.

Impressions:
William Powell and Myrna Loy make a great onscreen couple, but this script doesn't really capitalize on their chemistry. Some of the magic is there, but it doesn't have a patch on The Thin Man. I realize it's a different sort of story, but that story isn't half as entertaining. It doesn't really hit its stride until the courtroom sequence in the third act and what happens there seems like an insane miscarriage of justice (in the sense that it completely upends courtroom procedures as far as I understand them). If you're a big fan of Powell and Loy, you may still enjoy it well enough, but I can't give it much of a recommendation.
