Cat People (1942)

Synopsis:
A man marries a Serbian woman who believes she bears the curse of a witch and will turn into a panther when her passion overwhelms her.

Impressions:
In and of itself, this is a so-so horror film that has some measure of novelty to it. This was basically the opinion of it at the time, but since then it's been held in higher regard as major step in the horror genre with the innovation of such techniques as the Lewton Bus. There's really nothing objectionable to it. Simone Simon is pretty good as the lead and I liked Tom Conway as the psychiatrist. Give this one a shot.
