Jane Eyre (1943)

Director: Robert Stevenson
Starring: Orson Welles, Joan Fontaine, Margaret O'Brien
Synopsis:
A young lady becomes the governess at the estate of the secretive Mr. Rochester.
Impressions:
This is a solid adaptation of the book for those of you who are fans. Orson Welles brings incredible intensity and humor to the role of Mr. Rochester. Joan Fontaine is no slouch as Jane either and the two play off each other quite well. I was also fairly fond of Margaret O'Brien as Adele. Must've been the accent. If you're a fan of the book and/or Welles, you definitely need to give this one a watch.
