5 Fingers (1952)

5 Fingers (1952)

Director: Joseph L Mankiewicz
Starring: James Mason, Danielle Darrieux, Michael Rennie

Synopsis:
The valet of the British ambassador to Turkey sells classified information to the Germans during World War II.

Impressions:
It's always fun watching James Mason play a smug villain and here is no different. This is a pretty solid spy thriller loaded with hubris and dramatic irony. I found it a bit disappointing that Michael Rennie's role was so understated. I liked him in The Day the Earth Stood Still and the idea of having him as a spy hunter certainly deserved a little more focus. It's a good movie that worth seeing, especially if you're a James Mason fan.
