Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)

Synopsis:
A psychic dealing with guilt over the death of her father unwittingly raises Jason from the depths of Crystal Lake.

Impressions:
Looking behind the scenes, apparently they wanted to do Freddy vs. Jason before Freddy vs. Jason, but New Line didn't want to hitch itself to the sinking ship that this franchise had become, so they went with a "Jason vs. Carrie" concept. Since they made Jason an undead terror in the last film, why not add psychics at this point? I'll give them credit for thinking out of the box a bit, but it doesn't help. There's a little more creativity than the last movie, but it's no less of a slog. I will say that I like Jason's design here, but with that, I've exhausted my bag of compliments for the movie. Pass on it.
