Killing Birds (1988)

Director: Claudio Lattanzi
Starring: Lara Wendel, Robert Vaughn, Timothy W Watts

Synopsis:
A group of college students travel in search of an endangered bird, only to stumble onto the site of several grisly murders years before.

Impressions:
We open on a scene of brutal murders (albeit with some of the most well-behaved carotid arteries I've ever seen), but then spend the rest of the first hour of this 90-minute movie building up to the final carnage. This wouldn't be a bad thing if the tension was more effective, but I honestly didn't understand how the zombies factored into all this and contrary to the title, there aren't really any killing birds to be had (just a maiming bird or two). As seems to be the trend in this kind of movie, most of the kills are due to stupidity, which seriously detracts from any satisfaction you can get out of it. The bottom line is that this didn't do anything for me and I don't think it'll do much for you either. Pass on this.
