Gunmen (1993)

Gunmen (1993)

Director: Deran Sarafian
Starring: Christopher Lambert, Mario Van Peebles, Denis Leary

Synopsis:
A bounty hunter breaks a man out prison to find the location of a drug kingpin's stolen fortune.

Impressions:
This is a pretty fun action movie that has some good interplay between Christopher Lambert and Mario Van Peebles. It's basically an adaptation of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and while it's not as iconic as its source material, it's an enjoyable ride. If you're an X-Men fan, you'll be amused that the kingpin is played by a wheelchair-bound Patrick Stewart. Denis Leary is solid as the Angel Eyes analogue and Brenda Bakke makes for a pretty good dark action girl. It's not an outstanding movie, but it's entertaining and that's enough to warrant a watch.
