Kickboxer 3: The Art of War (1992)

Kickboxer 3: The Art of War (1992)

Director: Rick King
Starring: Sasha Mitchell, Dennis Chan, Richard Comar

Synopsis:
David Sloan tries to rescue a kidnapped girl while in Rio for an exhibition match.

Impressions:
Talk about a bizarre mixed bag of a film. There actually isn't that much focus on kickboxing. It's mostly about resolving the kidnapping, to include some rather incongruous shootouts. Honestly, the story isn't horrendous. If this was a TV series, I could see it being a two-parter special. Interestingly, Sasha Mitchell seems to be mode-locked into his Cody character from Step By Step, which was going on while this was made. A funny thing about the sound editing is all the most stock sound effects you can imagine being used all the time. Though fairly disjointed, I didn't actively regret watching it. You might be interested if giving it a shot if for no other reason than all the location shots at Rio. Take it or leave it.
