Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor (1994)

Director: Albert Pyun
Starring: Sasha Mitchell, Kamel Krifa, Brad Thornton
Synopsis:
Imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, David Sloan is granted early release to participate in a martial arts tournament being held Mexico.
Impressions:
It's never a good sign when a sequel opens with a lengthy sequence of clips from its predecessor. I really feel they had a different main villain originally and then changed it to Tong Po in an attempt to improve the continuity. However, instead of Michel Qissi, we have the much smaller Kamel Krifa with a terrible makeup job in his place. Also, while Tong Po was more animal than man before, here he's disturbingly chatty, somehow Mexico's top drug lord, and ultimately a slinking coward. In many ways, this movie feels like a poor Enter the Dragon knockoff. While there's been some fanservice in the series before, this one kicks it up a notch with one of the most ridiculously gratuitous sex scenes I've seen. (There's another one that's at least contextual.) All told, this is a pretty garbage entry in a series that never seemed to score much higher than mediocre. Pass on it.
