Oscar (1991)

Director: John Landis
Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Ornella Muti, Peter Riegert

Synopsis:
A gangster trying to go straight has a hectic morning as he prepares to start his new life as a banker.

Impressions:
Although this movie didn't do well critically or financially, I like it quite a bit. Contrary to the failed effort that is Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, Sylvester Stallone shows a decent knack for comedy. Now, if you like comedies that rely on a pileup of characters with competing plots and plans, then you should enjoy this. There are a lot of character actors that do an admirable job of holding up the film, particularly Peter Riegert and Chazz Palminteri as mooks Aldo and Connie, and we can't forget Tim Curry as Dr. Poole. There's even a claymation intro, which is neat. I don't think this movie got a fair shake in its day. I think it's well worth having and definitely worth a watch at the very least.
