Escape Plan (2013)

Escape Plan (2013)

Director: Mikael Håfström
Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Caviezel

Synopsis:
A security consultant who specializes in breaking out of high security prisons takes an assignment from the CIA to infiltrate a black site, only someone plans to make his stay permanent.

Impressions:
A Sly/Arnold teamup is an 80s action movie fan's dream. Some 30 years later, you might wonder if they're still up to it, and I'd say that they still have it. They aren't pushed beyond the realm of plausibility but they aren't slouching either. You may find it more implausible to make a computer expert out of 50 Cent by putting glasses on him (though this is lampshaded somewhat in the script). Stallone and Schwarzenegger do well in their roles, but the real stand-out performance goes to Jim Caviezel as the sociopathic warden. I also want to note that I believe this is the first film for Arnold to use his native tongue. That was cool.

If you like Stallone and/or Schwarzenegger movies, you should like this one. They've certainly been in worse. I know because I've seen them.
