Impressions:
I wouldn't call Godzilla 2014 the best movie ever, but it was a solid film and I enjoyed it well enough. I wasn't quite so much of a fan that I felt the need to go out the theaters to see this, but if you're looking for kaijuu action, this does a pretty good job. Like most such films, the human drama isn't all that compelling, but it's a decent enough plot to provide a frame to hang our big kaijuu battles. When compared to The Planet Eater (the final entry in the Godzilla anime trilogy for the uninitiated), I like having a more classic rendition of Ghidorah and I rather liked this incarnation of Rodan as well (he's amusingly petty for a giant monster and I love it). If you liked the previous film, you should like this one as much or possibly more because there are more kaijuu. If that sounds good to you, give it a watch.
