Kizumonogatari - Part 3: Cold Blood (2017)

Director: Akiyuki Shinbo, Tastuya Oishi
Starring: Hiroshi Kamiya, Maaya Sakamoto, Yui Horie

Synopsis:
With the missing pieces of Kiss-shot assembled, Araragi has to make a choice between becoming a human again or remaining a vampire.

Impressions:
Even if you somehow started with these movies rather than beginning with Bakemonogatari, you know from the preview of Nekketsu-hen that a confrontation between Araragi and Kiss-shot is inevitable. Most of the film is devoted to that. There are some stunning visuals and a ridiculous amount of gore, so ridiculous that it pretty much becomes farcical, but I can't help feeling that was exactly the point. Now, I remember having heard something about a gym scene that rivaled the infamous toothbrush scene from Nisemonogatari and... yeah... It does go too far, but it ends up getting played off as a joke, much like its notorious predecessor. That aside, this is the main event the last two movies have been building up to. If you're on this train, you'll want to see it to the end.
