Impressions:
I'd heard some good buzz about this movie and might have checked it out on my own, but my father had seen it and liked it, so he showed it to me first. Honestly, I thought this was a Guy Ritchie film as the quirky cast, the pileup of plots and the criminal misadventures are all hallmarks of his films. Brad Pitt is solid in the lead, but I want to give special note to the combo of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry as the assassin combo Tangerine and Lemon. Needless to say, my own many trips on the shinkansen have been far less eventful, but there's a pretty good sense of authenticity to it (though I wish they had put a little more effort into the alleged #1 anime in Japan), which should appeal to Japanophiles in the audience. It's a wild ride and tons of fun and I highly recommend giving it a watch if not adding it to your collection.
