Impressions:
I remember seeing the first short and loosely keeping tabs on the franchise as Trigger worked to crowdfund the follow-up and then went on to make this series. As you'd expect, they don't disappoint. While the story hits a lot of predictable notes, it comes by it so natural that only the most cynical viewer will mind. The cast is varied and entertaining with the bulk of the comedy coming from Akko's dumb antics. It doesn't feel like there's as much budget here as some of Trigger's other series, but they trade detail for dynamism, so I never minded. It's a very accessible series, which is part of its charm. Also, in true Trigger form, they pull out all the stops for the finale. I was quite satisfied with it and would gladly add it to my collection. It's worth checking out at the very least.
