Impressions:
Given my review of the previous season, you're probably surprised to see me reviewing this. After all, I opted not to continue with SAO or Danmachi. Well, I'm about as surprised as you. I figured I'd give the first ep a watch and decided to keep going. The accursed OP "database" is gone (to the dismay of many fans, which I see as further evidence of this being a cursed timeline), which may have contributed to me giving this a shot. The season is broken up into three parts. The first is the Akiba election, which is a bit dry, but if you like the political aspect of the series, it's fairly solid. Next is a two-parter covering Krusty's activities on the Zhongyuan server and the last segment covers the Akiba raid with its focus on the junior members of Log Horizon. Looking back at my review of the second season, I'd said I didn't like the stuff with the kids or the raid sequence, but here the combination of the two came off more good than bad. All told, I really don't have too much to object to, but I don't feel particularly compelled to make a strong recommendation either. I suppose if you're a fan of the series, this should satisfy. For just about anyone else, you probably won't enjoy yourself much. Take it or leave it.
