Mashle - The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam (2024)

Director: Tomoya Tanaka
Studio: A-1 Pictures
Starring: Chiaki Kobayashi, Reiji Kawashima, Kaito Ishikawa
Episodes: 12

Synopsis:
Mash's secret is exposed and the only way to save his life is by becoming a Divine Visionary.

Impressions:
I enjoyed the first season and was happy to welcome a followup. The series' signature brand of humor continues to do its thing to good effect. Mash finds himself sandwiched between the two antagonistic forces of the Divine Visionaries and Innocent Zero. Nothing his trusty muscles can't handle. We get a good variety of creative action set pieces with many different magical techniques. To top it off, the OP and ED are quite good as well (even if the ED "Tokyo's Way" seems like a bit of an ill fit for a story that's not set in Tokyo, Japan or even Earth). If you were a fan of the first season, you'll be just as happy with this, so as with the first season, I'm recommending this for a place in your collection.
