Synopsis:
An overworked and underappreciated salaryman is transported to another world, where he is made a general in the service of the Demon King.
Impressions:
It says something about the Japanese work environment where you'd be willing to sell your soul to the Devil just for a compliment. Okay, that isn't exactly the situation here, but it doesn't change the fact that the main fantasy here isn't the waifus or the power but simply having your work appreciated. While there is action to be had, most of the conflicts are matters of planning and negotiation. I wouldn't have minded a little more complexity to work the ol' noodle and a slightly higher difficulty level so that things don't get wrapped up quite so quickly or neatly, but for what it is, it's a fairly pleasant watch that averts a lot of the tropes I dislike in isekai stories. I imagine this will appeal more to working adults than to younger viewers, but there's nothing wrong with having a particular demographic. If it sounds like it might be up your alley, give it a shot. You might just find it worth a watch as I did.
