Impressions:
On the surface, there's nothing that makes this series stand out from any other cookie cutter isekai slop, but I see a cute Elf girl on the poster and it at least gets me through the door. Yes, there's nothing particularly groundbreaking here, but it's competently made, the characters are decent and it looks pretty good. Actually, the artstyle looks a bit like a 90s throwback, which may be tied to this being done by Sunrise. About the only thing that makes this stand out from the crowd is that it doesn't have that would-be school shooter persecution complex vibe that a lot of similar stories do. Akira may not get along with his classmates too much, but he doesn't go out of his way to be antagonistic to them, and with a notable plot-relevant exception, they aren't particularly antagonistic to him either. Actually, the outclassed heroes trying to catch up makes for a halfway decent B plot. This isn't a must-see, but it was one of the better watches this season, so if you're not opposed to more isekai, consider giving it a shot and see if it clicks with you.
