Jason and the Argonauts (1963)

Director: Don Chaffey
Starring: Todd Armstong, Nancy Kovack, Gary Raymond

The demigod hero Jason gathers a crew of adventurers to go on a quest to find the legendary Golden Fleece.

Let's make no bones about it. The reason you're here is for the amazing, groundbreaking stop-motion animation by the master himself, Ray Harryhausen. Honestly, the movie would be rather mediocre otherwise. Not to knock everything else about it, but Harryhausen's work really is the main thing. I will admit to being fairly intrigued by Nigel Green's portrayal of an older Hercules. That may not be much of a bone to toss, but there it is. If you're invested in the history of special effects, you definitely need to see it. Otherwise, it's still worth watching, I'd say.
